Submissions

Advocacy (and Education) is one of CAN’s three strategic focus areas. From time to time CAN has an opportunity to use its members’ strengths and experiences to articulate the church agencies’ perspectives via formal written submissions to Government inquiries into aspects of Australian Aid policy. To date CAN has drafted formal submissions to the following inquiries:

  • The Senate Inquiry into Australia’s overseas aid and development assistance program (2014)
  • Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Inquiry into the Human Rights Issues Confronting Women and Girls (2015)
  • Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade Inquiry into the Delivery and Effectiveness of Bilateral Aid in Papua New Guinea (2015)
